1302 Floyd Avenue was purchased in 2017 through the City of Richmond Tax Delinquent Property Sale program. In partnership with The Johannas Group, which will serve as a rehabilitation historian and assist with the Special Use process, Blackwood Development Company intends to transform the building into a multi-unit dwelling consistent with the neighborhood.

The Johannas Design Group and Blackwood Development Company have partnered on a number of projects including the Trolley at Main & Vine, Eclipse Apartments, 2617 W. Main Street and 1718 E. Franklin Street. 1302 Floyd Avenue represents the unique opportunity to rehabilitate a blighted structure in the city of Richmond that has been abandoned for the past twenty years.
